Struggling to meet customer demands and expectations for new and revised designs, the company realized that its Engineering Change & Release Control function (ECRC) was a significant bottle-neck for its engineering center and many global manufacturing locations.

OEi consultants evaluated the current processes and roles, and studied best practices along with benchmark cycle-times, then redesigned and implemented a new ECRC function and systems, which included:

  • Restructured and centralized the ECRC administration department.
  • Led the design, development, migration, and launch of electronic / online approval ECRC system, including network, hardware, and software development.
  • Included online drawing overlay markup capability with full CAD system integration. (Commercial products were not sufficient at the time.)
